Development and realisation of a modular mobile robot cell with integrated industrial robot for process development in various areas of research in the building industry.
Solution
The mobile robot cell consists of two platforms: a robot cell and a work platform. Equipped with an ABB industrial robot, it enables the flexible integration of various robot-supported processes. The platforms are based on 20-foot standard container platforms, are mechanically connected and have integrated cable guides. A central control system with display, a safety system consisting of a modular safety fence, monitored access doors and emergency stop buttons as well as an integrated, powerful power distribution system round off the system. The system can be set up and dismantled in a very short time by two people using the appropriate lifting equipment. Additional process equipment can be set up outside the cell and connected to the cell or robot via electrical and mechanical interfaces.

The customer benefit of the mobile robot cell is the rationalisation of the manufacturing process through the production of components directly on site. It also enables the quick and easy implementation and testing of innovative robot-supported processes in a safe environment. The modular design and easy transportability of the robot cell offer flexibility and mobility. This opens up a wide range of possibilities for research and development as well as mobile production, for example in the field of 3D concrete printing.
