Sustainability and cost optimisation were the key requirements of this project. Our customer strove to implement intelligent heating control. The technology has to measure, adjust and optimally regulate the flow temperature of the heating system to enable intuitive and efficient heating control. The implementation of these requirements must occur entirely using IoT technologies and be manufacturer independent.

Solution

Special electronics for overriding heating in a targeted way were developed based on the OEM controller board. This is accomplished with an ohmic resistance decade box. The data for adjusting heating control and the feedback information are sent over a downlink/uplink using IoT technology based on the LoRaWAN stack and an FLMR module from the Miromico company.

Customer benefits

Thanks to our innovation solution, customers are able to reduce their energy costs by up to 30 percent. Heating costs can be reduced through intelligent control and optimal energy use. The system also enables optimisation of remote operation. The smart controller detects the flow temperature, adjusts it and regulates heat output efficiently – and it all happens comfortably and remotely. This solution is manufacturer independent and can be implemented very easily in existing heating systems.
