The PMOD/WRC develop and build radiometers which are among the world’s most precise of their type and are used both on the ground and in space. A partner who could meet these requirements was sought for the production of high-precision parts for their systems. This is where GRITEC came into play.

Solution

For the “Dara” measuring instrument (Digital Absolute Radiometer), which weighs an impressive 3.1 kilogrammes and contains 1,730 individual parts, a host of different parts were produced as a commissioned order for the customer. Some of these parts were post-processed and even coated with gold so they reflect incoming thermal radiation.
