Assignment

Our task is to develop a moving assembly system which enables the assembly and commissioning of different types of tool grinding machines. The objective is to create platforms offering a productive and ergonomic advantage and a new, continuous production method.

Solution

We developed continuously moving, ground-level transport platforms which transport tool grinding machines through almost 20 stations – from the basic structure to commissioning. The final station is located in the dispatch area, from which the transport platforms are brought back to the start of the production line with a transport vehicle. To also ensure an efficient and precise work process, the parts and modules are fed into the respective stations in each case. The entirety of energy supply is arranged below the hall floor level here. Development, design and implementation of the entire system were carried out by GRITEC.

Customer benefits

With our solution and optimised assembly concepts, the assembly time of the various machine types was reduced considerably. Continuous forward movement now enables predictable and controllable production. The ground-level transport platforms provide optimal ergonomics at the assembly stations and make the assembly tasks significantly easier.
