Assignment

Development and implementation of a system for the precise processing of steel pipes over 5 metres in length and with different diameters straight from the bar loader. The system must be capable of precisely making both straight and angled cuts, as well as various cut-outs.

Solution

Integration and expansion of a standard laser cell from the TRUMPF company. This was expanded with a pipe magazine and part feed & removal mechanisms with integrated extraction function in the interior pipe area. The GRITEC company developed, designed and implemented the entire concept here. The design was adapted to the laser cell to create a clean overall system.

Customer benefits

The customer benefits from the option to now produce all their products using the same system. Thanks to the high cut quality achieved, the products can be seamlessly transferred to the following process directly and without additional post-processing. This results in considerable time and cost savings for the customer.
