Innovative solar sauna
Design, development and implementation of a solar sauna
Assignment
An autonomous solar sauna for six to eight people, as an ecological innovation, is to encourage soft tourism in a mountainous area. Energy from the sun is to be focussed on the heating plate of the sauna stove using mirrors similar to a solar oven. The system must be built to be rugged so as to withstand cold winters in the mountainous area.
Solution
The self-sufficient system turns automatically thanks to solar power from a photovoltaic panel. The mirrors follow the position of the sun using tracking software. As soon as the energy from the sun decreases, the stove door closes automatically to retain the heat in the highly insulated cabin. Sauna visitors get an unforgettable sauna experience with an unobstructed view of mountainous nature and a starry night sky.
Customer benefits
“Feelable” and visible solar energy offers the user an innovative, sustainable sauna experience in the depths of winter at an elevation of 2,000 metres. They’re to feel the energy transition on their body and take a once-in-a-lifetime holiday experience back with them to their everyday life – invigorated, fascinated and inspired.
