Assignment

Our task was to develop a moving assembly line to enable the assembly and commissioning of different grinding machine types. The idea was to develop different platforms to ensure smooth and optimal production flow.

Solution

We developed continuously moving transport platforms which transport the grinding machines through almost 20 stations – from their substructure through to full commissioning. Parts and modules are fed precisely and in an orderly way in the respective sections to ensure an efficient work process. The platforms are continuously circulating (in a rectangular pattern) by various movement systems. Development, design and implementation of the entire system were carried out by GRITEC.

Customer benefits

Our solution significantly reduced the assembly time of the various machine types and enabled predictable and controllable production through continuous forward movement. We improved quality by optimising the assembly processes. The transport platforms ensure optimal safety and make the assembly tasks significantly easier. Different machine types can be assembled with optional extras on the same platforms.
